I was going to work as I came down the off ramp I lost all power and hit a pole there was massive damage to the front end and to the engine also I never received a recall notice I did not find out about the recall until I looked up on the internet what may have happened also my air bags never deployed.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph within cross winds, the convertible top cover, which was referred to as a tonneau, detached from the vehicle. The contact was unable to locate the convertible top cover when maneuvering to the side of the road. The convertible top cover would not be replaced due to concern of a potential safety hazard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,500. Updated 06/06/12

Within only one month convertible top had to be replaced. After 6 months another hole is developing on the convertible top due to chaffing from the frame assembly when down. It looks like the frame assembly is causing the damage to the convertible top. GM has changed the first top but has put the second top in a status of awaiting engineering. Top is still not changed. Almost 4000 miles on car now.
