Camaro SS V8

  • Manual transmission
  • 5,000 miles

My 2014 Camaro SS will not start. I expect this new car to start when I want to drive it and apparently that is asking too much. I drive it weekly - just on nice days. It is not my daily driver because it's obviously my baby.

The dealer has had it 3 times and patronizingly tells me that it is because I don't drive it enough. They recommend a battery tender. I don't want to deal with that BS and have to disconnect that to drive it to work. You all know where the battery is and it's a pain in the ass. I didn't pay that much for a car to disassemble crap to be able to enjoy driving it.

I love love love the Camaro's and this is my second one (first was a 2010). I am so irritated. They tell me there are so many electrical things on these new cars....and compare it to a Corvette.....and if you don't drive it daily, then the only option is the battery tender. WTH!!! I am seriously ready to just get rid of the car!!! Open to suggestions. I'm a female but I'm NOT an idiot!!!! Thanks!!!

Camaro 2SS

  • Manual transmission
  • 904 miles

Car parked in garage for one week. Battery was dead. Jump started, had to reset my link and windows. OnStar came on when the vehicle was off. Dealer states that one week is likely too long to leave this vehicle parked without being started. Solution offered by dealer was that I purchase a higher grade battery on my own.
