Cavalier LS 2.2L I4

  • Automatic transmission

The Cavalier LS is having problems again. For the last three weeks there has been a prolonged screeching noise coming from the engine right at start up. Sometimes it can be heard after the engine has been off for several hours and sometimes I can hear it again after it has been off for just a few minutes. I took it to two different mechanics who simply blew me off claiming "it is normal for this vehicle," and I am not interested in taking it to Chevy. I am not interested in hearing it will cost a lot and it it not under warranty, After replacing the starter, the car starts without a problem. Wow... I thought starters were good for over a hundred thousand miles. This car has good fuel economy, decent performance but I am being harassed with electrical systems problems. It needs to end now.
