Cobalt LS 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,200 miles

stopped at red light, light turned green truck in front of me went forward but had to stop because of oncoming traffic,I applied brakes pedal went to floor and vehicle took off at high speed(I thought my foot had slipped off the brake).I hit truck in rear causing no damage to it a 2500 Chevy truck but $4,300+ damage to the 2005 cobalt, air bags did not deploy speed less than 10mph estimate, vehicle 2005 cobalt pedal fell in the floor on oct 5th 2007 pin& bushing found missing from vehicle at dealership(think missing from factory,a plastic pin and bushing)traded vehicle on the spot(never to drive again)also happened to my wife 2 weeks prior(she had not told me that the pedal went down and vehicle surged forward at high speed)G.M response you do not own the vehicle now,NHTH response we will send you the paper work to file a complaint in 6-8 weeks.Lawyers response well being you had no injury we can't take the case, farm beurea insurance well it happened back in june 2006 and we can't go back that far, never mind that my insurance premiums went up no fault of mine. thanks for all the help from each of them(OH! when I used the emergency brake to stop the car while it went from 45 to 60 it flat spotted the right rear tire making it useless.p.s I did work for the N.C dept of transportation and trained people how to drive big trucks and get their C.D.L drivers license.
