The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel seized with the illumination of the power steering warning. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to shift gears and the chrome covering on the door handle had deteriorated. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the steering wheel column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle wasalso included in NHTSA campaign id numbers: 14E021000 (electrical system) 14V171000 (electrical system) and 14V047000 (air bags, electrical system). The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the parts were not available for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
