My left front control arm went bad in June at 19,100 miles. My right front control arm went bad in October at 22,000 miles. This should never have happened with such low mileage. The first problem was paid for by the dealer under goodwill warranty. The second one I had done at an independent shop and cost me $559 before tax. I called Chevrolet to register a complaint and they even admitted that the parts were shoddy for that year of my vehicle. However they would not reimburse me for the second problem because they said they don't deal with independent repair shops. They said perhaps if I had had it done at the dealer they might have been able to do something, even though it was passed the warranty. I don't feel that it makes any difference where you got it fixed. This is a safety issue and these problems should not have happened at such a low mileage. If anyone reading this has had this problem, please report it to Chevrolet and to NHTSA because if enough people complain, they will do a recall and you can get reimbursed for the problem regardless of where you got it fixed from what I am told.
