If GM knows of the issue, what can be done? Is there a recall out for this problem?

If this happened to one truck I would not feel this bad but it is happening to both my Colorados, they only have around or under 50000mi. I got the part at the dealer and they said this a problem with the Colorados. I'm wondering why there has not been a recall on these parts or the wiring harness, the blue wire was burnt bare back three inches and smoke filled the cab.
This to me is a serious problem and needs to be looked into. I will be waiting for a reply to this complaint.

This is a known issue with Silverados and was taken care of by GM. Apparently this is an ongoing issue and is now affecting Colorados as well. I know of three different Colorados tat this has happened to ranging in years from 2005 to 2007. I sincerely hope that GM recognizes this issue as well and does the right thing before they lose my company's business. We currently have 32 GM trucks.

IT KILLS ME THAT YOU EITHER FREEZE OR BURN UP. I BABYSIT MY GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEW
AND IT IS RUFF ON THEM. LOCAL DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHECK IT OUT BEFORE HE DOES ANYTHING. HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT. THEN WILL HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO BE FIXED, RUNNING UP ANOTHER BILL.
