Same problem with 8 speed transmission reported slams into 2nd gear as if hit from behind. Drops hard on down shift when coming to a stop. Local dealership has changed fluid twice no improvement. Unwilling to look into a mechanical problem. I feel that they are waiting for warranty to run out. Really would like to get this repaired. No option to sell the vehicle as is.

When slowing down to around 5-8 mph and then re-accelerating, there is a harsh engagement from the transmission. It doesn't happen all the time but it will occur maybe 25% of the time. I took it to the Chevy dealer locally and they can't fix it at this time. If GM releases a software fix then they will apply it. I assume GM will only release a fix if enough folks have a similar problem and complain.
