My A/C stopped working from one second to the next. Took it in to the repair shop and initially got the compressor and dryer/accumulator replaced. The A/C button on the dash wouldn't stay on so technician checked into it and found that the control head was sending wrong signals to the passenger side actuator which would keep the compressor running constantly instead of cycling. The actuator motor was burned out so had to replace it along with control head.
