Cruze

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Transmission went out finally in the 2013 Cruze. It never had any power when you stepped on the gas and never seemed right from the start. My daughter is writing this and she has a 2011 cruze eco that had more power when accelerating. My daughter in law has a 2015 and it has more power as well, just mine was so slow and not right but was told everything was ok that is how all of them work. When it went out I was going up a small hill and barely had enough power to make it up to a business to pull off to. Then it would only go into reverse and it went nuts going forward in reverse etc. I have read of a lot of people having this same problem and Chevy is evidently not reporting the proper numbers or there would be a recall!! I am furious that Chevy which has always been an "American Brand Name" won't stand behind their problems!!

Cruze LT 1.5L

The trans blew, and it costs $4,300 CAN to replace it. GM won't do anything.

Cruze ECO 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,500 miles

Bought this car in May 2013 absolutely LOVE IT. However, a little concerned that the transmission went out in under 17,000 miles and axle broke as well. Dealership had the car towed at no cost and gave me a free rental so they made everything fairly easy to deal with other than having to wait all day to get a rental. I am very upset this happened but very happy that I have had no problems getting it taken care. Hopefully this is an isolated incident that won't happen again. The only reason I am even posting is to make it known encase someone else has the same problem.
