I'm not sure if this is the right address to send this to, I hope so though. I'm writing to you today because my car will be going in for an issue tonight for the second time. Early this year while I was driving my steering column started smoking and I quickly pulled over and called my husband to come get the car. It went for service to see what the issue was and supposedly the issue was fixed.

Well it was not fixed or it is burning again some where else now because the other day while driving home I noticed the smoke again coming out of the steering column. I'm taking it this time to the dealership for them to look into this and to see if there are any recalls on this problem. Because now again I will have to pay to fix this and I simply can't afford to keep fixing problems that don't go away. I was recently going to look into purchasing a new Equinox and trade this one in but now I'm thinking I may not bother with another Equinox if this issue is going to follow me into a new one.

Is there any assistance you can offer me or tell me at least that there is a recall and something you can cover. Or anything I can tell my dealership later when I bring my car in for the service?

I am a loyal Chevy customer and I don't want this issue to turn me away from the cars that I love.

I'M SCARED AS HELL TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR BECAUSE CAR FIRES ARE MY BIGGEST FEAR!

When my wife was in the vehicle, she started the vehicle and noticed smoke coming from inside the steering column. While i was the same vehicle and starting it, the wipers were on, and as i turned the key over, there was so much smoke coming from the steering column area. It smells like rubber burning inside. I feel this needs to have a recall done, or someone could get very hurt if the vehicle catches fire.
