Equinox LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

We have had the car 3 years on a 4 year lease. We have taken it to two different shops and a strictly transmission shop. No one can tell us what the hell the noise is when it shifts and makes a clunk noise to put it in gear. It down shifts when your going down the road. A really bad car. The dealer won't help, warranty expired in Feb of 09. Since it's a lease it's our problem and the cheap estimates are about $2000 to fix and totally rebuild the transmission. UGH!!! I will never ever by GM again!!!!

Equinox LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,600 miles

When shifting from park, it is difficult to shift from park, and makes a loud clunking noise, like the gears are not engaging correctly.

Additionally, it will sometimes down shift in the same manner, making a somewhat loud noise and you can feel it in the break and steering wheel.
