Equinox LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,900 miles

Lift gate will not open, have to keep pushing button, sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. Have replaced the lift gate latch and the solenoid switch and the problem still occurs.

Equinox LT V6 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

The lift gate started slowly sinking closed in late October, it's gradually getting worse - loading groceries or other items is getting to be dangerous. I know this thing is going to let go completely and come crashing down on my head. My husband has already whacked his head on it a few times, but I just haven't had the time to look into getting it fixed. Of course the car is no longer under warranty, which is typical, there's no excuse for this to be happening other than crappy workmanship, there aren't that many miles on it.

Equinox V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,000 miles

It is a safety hazard. It will slam down on someone who is loading or unloading the vehicle. I am recently out of warranty and Chevrolet claims it's a wear and tear issue. I have less than 36000 miles on my vehicle.
