Equinox LTZ V6

Never got a notification for recall but heard there was one issued Sept 2016. Apparently it was for other models of 2011 Equinox but think it is strange that the recall was for high pressure fuel pump and that is what was replaced. Apparently a different part model.

Worried that fuel leaking into oil may have damaged engine but I am a widowed 77 year old female so have no knowledge of this stuff. Wondering if I should get a different vehicle.

Again this is an issue Chevrolet was aware of and listed as a possible issue in a letter. I had repairs done at the dealership as instructed by the letter and filed for reimbursement. However, because my vehicle was not manufactured at a plant on their "list" they refuse to reimburse me. The same faulty parts just at a different plant than they list. This issue could have caused the engine to lock up or possibly blow-up, catch on fire while driving.
