Equinox LT 2.4L

  • 65,000 miles

I was traveling to Syracuse on the thruway and it was raining when all of a sudden my wipers stopped. I had to leave my car at a thruway stop overnight. I was so pissed - I took it to a Midas the next day and had the situation corrected. I shelled out $450.00.

Equinox XL 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 163,000 miles

I was driving an hour and a half away and it started to rain/snow on the interstate. I turn my wipers on to use them and they break mid-wipe so the wipers are still across my windshield going 70 mph. I have to pull over to put them back down and then find a parts store with the part available. I was unable to drive the vehicle due to the weather. I spent $170 to fix this problem. I have researched this problem and it appears that several people have had this issue. I feel like it should be a recalled part.

Very scary and dangerous situation. I had my daughter and her best friend in the car on the way to bowling on the weekend. All of the sudden the wiper on the driver side stopped operating and i was completely blinded. Pouring rain, 18 wheelers kicking up water, i didnt even know where to pull over. I had to wait for a towtruck on the side of the highway with a very narrow shoulder. Imagine-I had to have the car TOWED because of the wipers! I have been without vehicle for 6 days now, because Chevy dealer does not have the part!!! Not a happy Chevy owner right now.

wiper transmission broke

I was literally just driving in a severe storm and my wipers were functioning properly then all of the sudden they JUST STOPPED WORKING! They were both stuck in the upward position and I could not see anything! I don’t know what the cause of this severe issue is but I do KNOW it is UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS! During a torrential downpour my wipers just stopped. I had to get out of my vehicle to see if perhaps they came loose or who knows what the f*ck the actual problem is! I am now soaked and have been in harms way for way to long at this moment!!!I have now been sitting on the side of a busy road (honestly I can’t even tell if I’m properly on the side of the road or not because it’s a TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR AND I HAVE NO FUNCTIONING WIPERS) I have had nothing but issue after issue with my 2015 Equinox and this experience has me so infuriated I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM GM AGAIN. How careless!!!!! I will be waiting here for a while considering I just received another SEVERE WEATHER ALERT and I absolutely will not put myself or others in harms way or quite possibly a fatal situation because GM is reckless!!!!! SO F*CKING DISGUSTED RIGHT NOW! For the several probably thousands at this point who have had to experience this horrific event, I am sorry you put your faith in GM. End rant.
