In 2020 or 2021, there was a recall on the airbag system. We told by the dealership that our VIN number wasn't covered. We were also told that if not fixed it didn't affect the airbags going off in an accident. Because of cost - $800 at least, we didn't have fixed.
In January 2022 we took it to our private mechanic who told us the Passenger Seat presence module had to be replaced or reprogramed by a GM dealership. Through research, we have found it costs anywhere from $800 to over $1000. Which we do not have. GM should fix it - not us. Don't know whether it would do any good to send a letter to our congresswoman or not.
