My car was parked out front of my home and on the morning of 12/28/2016 as I was leaving for work I noticed a strong odor of gasoline inside of my vehicle. When I got to work and parked my car I looked for the cause of the odor only to find that there was gas leaking from the drivers side of the vehicle in front of the rear tire by the exhaust from the gas line. I have not paid to have this problem fixed and after some research I've found out there are a few hundred other cases similar to mine. If my vehicle catches fire I will be suing GM.

Noted strong smell of gasoline near drivers side rear door after exiting vehicle after driving, but not after vehicle sat and did not run. Dealer service said gasoline lines had corroded and need to be replaced. Replacement lines not on hand and over $1,000 to fix. Definite fire hazard. Car currently not being used. I took my car to get the ignition recall repaired picked it up with a very serious fuel line leak above drivers side rear wheel, that was not leaking when I took it in like that and was told it was a common problem with this make and model. I am very angry and upset to find this to be common in an 8 year old vehicle, that I now have no transportation because its too dangerous to drive.

Drove 1 mile. Turned engine off for 15 min. When restarted car it started shaking, warning message on dash read engine power reduced. Unable to drive more than 30 mph, with car still shaking drove 1 mile to my local mechanic, when mechanic restarted car and conducted dx test and reset code the problem resolved, no further incidents after miles of test driving. Hesitant to drive car any long distance for fear it may happen again and curious if other HHR drivers have had this problem or if there was a silent recall.. would like advice as to how to correct this issue, prevent a recurrence without expensive dealer costs and feel safe driving this vehicle. Please advise. Thank you

On or about 30aug08 al line to the fuel pump on my 2006 Chevy HHR leaked causing the car to catch on fire. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had been taken to the dealer for warranty work 7 times. To correct other issues. I am writing because I was charged for the repair. It took 30 days to get the part, and General Motors sent a representative to the dealership who took over 300 pictures of the car.
