HHR LS 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

The locks break inside so the door won't stay shut it just jams. There is no way to make the door close without replacing part. I have replaced the driver side both front and back and the passenger side front. I am scheduling an appt for the passenger back one to be replaced. Luckily no one was injured or killed, but the biggest concern is that my car can't lock with the door lock inside jams. It also runs my battery down because it won't latch.

WHAT HAPPENED IS WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR, IT WOULDN'T LATCH. THE DOORS WON'T EVEN STAY CLOSED WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED ON TWO OF THE DOORS. THEY DON'T LATCH WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED IF LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO GET THE DOOR LATCH/LOCK REPLACED ON THE DOORS. IF IT HAPPENED TO ONE DOOR, I WOULD THINK THAT WAS FROM AGING OR SOMETHING, BUT WHEN IT HAPPENED TO TWO DOORS, I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND GM NEEDS TO PAY FOR IT. THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX AND THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLY BIGGER THAN JUST MY TWO DOORS. I WILL BE INTERESTED TO SEE HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM.

This is dangerous if you had to get out of the car in emergency situation. You have to press the locks down in order to open the door. Today, the inside handle broke off due to trying to open the door. HHR Chevrolet is the worst car I ever had.
