WIFE JUST BOUGHT A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2011 HHR FROM ALLEN SAMUELS CHEVY AUGUST 1, 2012. ON AUGUST 17, 2012 WIFE GOT OFF WORK AND STARTED CAR AND GAUGES WERE ERRATIC AND STEERING HARD. SHE BROUGHT IT HOME AND I HAD AUTOZONE CHECK BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND CODES AND ALL WERE GOOD. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND 5 DAYS LATER THEY SAID THEY SAW MELTED WIRES BY POWER STEERING MODULE. THEY SCANNED POWER STEERING MODULE AND FOUND ERROR CODES. THE REROUTED A MELTED WIRE TO FUSE BOX, REPROGRAMMED STEERING MODULE AND BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. ONE WEEK LATER PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN MY WIFE GOT OFF WORK SO SHE STAYED IN THE PARKING LOT AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DELAERSHIP THEN ORDERED A STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT AND CLEARED CODES AND TEST DROVE CAR. NOW A WEEK LATER AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, HHR STARTED TO BUCK/SPUTTER WHILE DRIVING AND KEPT ACTING LIKE IT WOULD STALL. CAR IS AT DEALERSHIP NOW 3RD TIME FOR A JUST BOUGHT CAR! I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW 2009-2012 HHR HAVE SEVERAL IGNITION MODULE/SWITCH PROBLEMS AND A RECALL CAMPAIGN 12046. I AM GOING TO CALL SERVICE DEPT AND MAKE SURE THE IGNITION MODULE/SWITCH IS CHANGED BECAUSE THATS WHAT I THINK THE PROBLEM IS.
