Impala LS 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 164,000 miles

When I go to hit the accelerator the first time it sticks and then cruises a lot faster than it should with my foot off the pedal. I am not sure what is causing it to stick but would like to know how to fix it

car throttle sticks I believe car revs up to extremely high revolutions causing the engine to get so hot you can here the pings from the engine. Some times I can take my foot of the accelerator and the car runs by itself at about 40 miles per hour. Had throttle sensor replaced didn't help and sprayed into throttle body to clean out residue no help.If someone knows what is wrong please help.

Impala 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

sometimes when i start the car. the RPMS increase a lot, and the car just wants to go. I have to shut it off, and slam on the gas pedal a few times. Start it back up and away i go. Kind of scary when it happens when you pull up to a stop light.
