problem #2

Jun 012003

Impala 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles
Within 6 months after purchase the new vehicle stalled with no notice at stop light. After letting it sit for several hours it will then start. Sometimes it will not start even after sitting overnight. The dealer replaced the mass air flow pressure sensor several times.

Impala 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,776 miles
P102 mass air flow sensor failure, causing check engine light to remain in a steady on condition. Vehicle would fail emissions test with check engine light on, but dealer says this condition not covered by emissions warranty even though the owner's manual clearly states this condition is a emissions system malfunction.
