Had the same problem with my Impala -- noticed it when I would first start the car and drive or when I would make a turn. It would make a swooshing sound like a waterfall noise and wondered what it could have been. It was definitely annoying so I did some research online and found that it was probably low on coolant. This car is a pain, though. Unlike any other car I have owned/driven, this car does not have a HOT/COLD mark on the coolant tank. There is only one line on the tank and it doesn't say either hot or cold, so I filled the overflow tank while the engine was hot to about half-way and added coolant to the radiator and the noise went away. Just go to Walmart like me and get a jug for $12 and save yourself a trip to the garage.

After I have driven for a distance, stop and start to drive ahead again, there is a noise like liquid swishing back and forth in the dash somewhere but it stops after a few seconds. Not sure if this is normal or not. When I mentioned it to a mechanic, I just got a shrug. Like it's supposed to happen.
