problem #2

Impala 3.4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

This car may be a Michigan car, and not kept in the garage, but it hardly sees road salt and is constantly washed, waxed, and dried. the rust is way worse than it should be.

Impala 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,750 miles

In August 2013 while having my car inspected I was advised that the car probably would only pass inspection another 2 years. In June 2014 when I had it inspected I was advised by a separate inspection site that the car probably would not pass inspection next year. We have not had the car for 9 years yet (September 2014 will be 9 years). It has a little over 70,000 miles on it. I don't run it much in the winter months as I work from home and it is kept in a garage. The reason it probably won't pass inspection next year: The frame/body of the vehicle is rusted something horrible.

When I purchase a vehicle I expect that vehicle to last both mechanically and physically for well beyond the lifetime this vehicle will have.

I've already had rust/paint work done twice on this vehicle. I feel this car was built well below industry standards.
