Impala V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

The inside and outside of the car smells strongly of gas. When I first purchased this used car in March of 2013 I had to get 6 fuel injectors replaced within 2 weeks of having car, not long after that I still smelled gas. I looked under the hood because that is where the smell is the strongest and there is gas leaking under the hood. My gas doesn't last and this needs to be recalled because I saw at east 100 other complaints about this same issue.

Impala 3.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32,000 miles

Bought the 2005 Chevrolet in March of 2008 with only 20K miles on it. Within four months after owning it. The fuel pump needed to be replaced, the instrument panel was replaced due to speedometer going haywire, and now....the smell of gas while driving to work. My brothers had borrowed the car that week, so i figured they got gas in a gas can at some point, because we all know the smell just lingers in your car for a few days. Well, after about 4 days I began to get worried because the smell would go away, then it would come back suddenly. Once morning on my commute to work, it got really annoying, so i stopped at a gas station to check the trunk in case something had spilled in there.....nothing. I opened the engine hood and lo and behold.....the stench of gasoline! I checked the fuel lines and they appeared to be normal, but i noticed there was an aluminum shaped "thing" that the fuel lines lead to on top of the engine and it had gasoline leaking around it, as well as the top of the hood was covered in gas. I called in to work and turned around and took it back to the dealer right away. At this point, i didn't want the damn car anymore. Of all the previous vehicles I've owned, this POS has got to be the worst I've ever owned. Spent a week at the dealer AGAIN for the third time...this time they didn't offer me a loaner vehicle...but drove me to the nearest rent-a-car location. They paid for it, but i still had to shell out $150 bucks for a deposit on the rental. If you smell gas in your POS Impala, don't ignore it cuz that Piece of SH*T car might just blow up on you. That would be an interesting topic on here...
