Impala SS V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

The keyless entry works /not work. never know. Put new battery does the same . I have walked right up to the car and it won't start . but I can steep out on the 4 step porch and it starts. 5 feet away . doesn't work at more than 5 feet distance . The only plus is you don't have your keys in the car to be stolen or I'd mite as well do it manually.

Impala LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 97,000 miles

I bought my 06 impala with 97000 miles on it. Right away the remote start and keyless entry would only work from about 10 ft away. Chevrolet wanted over 700 dollars to replace the keyless entry system. The dealer also stated that was a common failure on the Impalas. I opted instead to have an aftermarket remote start and keyless entry installed that had almost twice the range of the factory system and cost almost half as much. Several things have gone wrong with this car. I love the way it rides and it gets good gas mileage but the quality seems to be low. I would not be likely to buy another impala.
