Impala SS 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,885 miles

I have owned several Impalas thoughout the years and every one of them from 1998 and up have a "warp rotor" issue. The fix is use them until they begin to wobble, then have the rotors shaved (turned) more than what you need, taking the rotor to minimum spec thickness. The stock rotors need to be thinner to disipate heat quicker, so thin them out. If you "have a guy" thin them down more than minimum spec. I havnt had an issue since.

Impala LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I had the car for a month or so and the brake rotors became warped, and I am a careful driver. I don't live in the mountains, I don't ride my brakes, and I don't brake too hard or excessivly. I replaced the rotors with rotors from oriellys and it the were warped again a month later. I am going to replace them again with drilled and slotted brake rotors to see if they will last better.

Impala LT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

All four rotors were warped. Dealer resurfaced rotors. This is not something that should have needed to be done with only 12,000 miles on the car.
