Impala LT 3.9L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 191,000 miles

I bought this car as a used car in 8/2010 with about 90,000 miles on it. It ran really well. After a few months of driving I noticed a slight jerk when taking off or changing of the first gear. It was very unnoticeable so I assumed it could have been me making it do this. At the beginning of 2015 the unnoticeable jerk now has become a bad jerk that happens every time I slow down, take off, and even turn a curve. The RPMs go way up and it has to think about taking off and now jerks hard to change first and second gear as well. When turning a curve the RPM go up and it seems like it is dropping back in gear.

In the past 4 months the problem has accelerated. In the past I have taken it to a transmission shop and was told that it didn't show anything when it was put on the computer and to bring it back at the time when it was incurring the problem. After reading everybody's complaints I'm sure the transmission is on it way to the graveyard.

Impala LS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 170,000 miles

My car is hesitating and is shifting erratically. I have replaced plugs & wires, changed fuel filter. Check engine light is not on and it is not giving any codes. I also put some cleaner in the gas tank, so far nothing has worked and I am getting very, very annoyed! Transmission slips from 1st to 2nd and RPMs go up and down. RPMs never seem to level off. Does anyone have any ideas?
