Impala ES 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,000 miles

I go to work a 5:00 am in the morning, I was on a back road and when my lighst went out I was shocked. I didn't know what was happening THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. When someone gets killed then that will be a big law suit. My first impala transmission went out at 30,00 miles. I love my impala but will not buy another one. I have so many problems - light, gas gauge, heater etc. We need a recall. I am pissed.

Impala LT3 3.9L

I purchased this vehicle right off the show room floor. Drove it home. The second day I drove it at night. The headlights and internal lights began to fade, go back to normal, fade, go back to normal, etc. Having owned several cars I knew this wasn't right. I phoned the dealership where I purchased this vehicle. They kept the car for 2 days and finally noticed what I was talking about. The dealership told me there was a bulletin on this and replaced the alternator. Called me saying come get your car the problem is fixed. Well, I drove it at night 2 days after picking it up from the dealership and this problem persists. I once again phoned the dealership and was told nothing else could be done to remedy this problem and maybe I should turn down my interior lights if this bothers me. Well I can do that but will have to turn them ALL the way off and then I'll still have to deal with seeing my headlights do this. To this day my car still has this problem. I'm told by the dealership that the GM Engineers are aware of this problem, but STILL do not have a fix for it. I feel this is a safety issue. How do I know that everytime the lights dim that they will not just stay that way or go out completely. And heaven help me if there's an animal in the road and my lights dim cuz I'll hit it for sure. I even called GM and logged a complaint with them. Their answer was 2 free oil changes. I purchased this car in October, 2007 and it is May of 2008 and still no remedy. Had I known this was an "issue" with this car I would have gladly taken my $29,000 somewhere else !!
