The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. While driving approximately 15 mph, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the steering column. In addition, all of the warning indicators illuminated and flickered. The dealer stated that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14V355000 (electrical system). The part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
