Impala LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,000 miles

I purchased a certified used 2010 impala in June 2011. I hit a curb in the front right so I replaced all four tires since it was needed anyway. According to the company that replaced the tires there was not any damage from hitting the curb. One month after purchasing Hancook tires all four tires were feathering enough that the company that installed them brought it to my attention. The tire manufacturer said it wasn't the tires, I had the alignment checked (5 times now with different companies) which was done when the tires were installed and it wasn't the alignment. If you look at the tires from the back of the car the tires toe in at the base. No one can fix this. I am wondering if I have a bent frame. Anyone have any suggestions for the tire issue? I need new tires now and I do not want to spend the money and have the same issue one month after new tires are installed. See other posts later for the 101 issues I have had with this car. I would like to just get rid of the car but I can't at this point I am stuck with it for now.

Impala LTZ 3.9L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,701 miles

We bought our Impala LTZ from a local Chevy dealer with 10,000 miles on it. After 9,000 miles we took the car to have the tires rotated and the oil changed. When they took the tires off, they were shocked at the wear on the inside edge of both front tires. The driver's side was worn through the steel cords, and the passenger side was not quite as bad. They said the car was out of alignment. We bought two tires and had the car aligned. Of course, this was not covered by the warranty!!

Do the Impalas have a design problem that causes premature tire wear? The tires on this car are very expensive Goodyear Eagles. Since the tires are over $300 each, I would think they would last longer than 19,000 miles.

Impala LS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,000 miles

Since I drove it off the lot when it was new I have been getting excessive tire noise and wear. Dealer told me the tires had flat spots from sitting on the lot and told me if the problem did not go away within the first 500 miles they would replace the tire at fault. At 501 miles I had 4 brand new tires installed on the car and paid $200 for the difference to upgrade them to a better tire. At approximately 8,000 miles one tire from the back had excessive tire wear on the inside, and the car was completely out of alignment?? Wow, I have never had this on any new car before. I am still driving the car with no fix and plenty of tire noise and creaking coming from the front end when making sharp slow turns and still the dealer says there is nothing wrong! Really?? I plan to trade as soon as I can, can't deal with this problem or GM dealership any longer. :(
