I kept smelling this awful smell so my husband finally got tired of me complaining and made an appointment to have it looked at where we had purchased it. I had purchased a cabin filter which they did install since they had it apart but their solution was that the smell was coming from the outside when farmers were spraying, but they did spray the system with some "stuff" to try to help with the smell. My question was are they spraying in my garage because I park inside and as soon as I start the car I can smell it. So once again no answer and the deodorizer they sprayed did help for a short time but the smell came back. Condescending service department trying to get rid of a complaining female.

Early last spring, my 2011 Impala began stinking when the a/c was turned on. We went to the dealer and they told us it could cost thousands to check out the problem with no guaranteed fix. At the time, we thought a mouse had crawled into the duct work and died. SO, we traded the car in on a 2013 Impala. No problems until this spring, now we are having the exact same issue. My husband says it smells like a dirty gym locker.

It doesn't happen all the time, it goes away or you get used to it when you are in the car for awhile but it is gagging when you turn on the air. Anyone have a solution. Air fresheners do not cover up the stink.
