Impala LS V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,100 miles

I purchased the car used from a registered GM dealership. I was leaving my mother's house with my significant other and his 5 year old child. I started the car and the radio display stayed black. I tried turning the car off to see if a restart would help the screen come back on, but no luck. I drove the car home (about a 15 minute drive) and the screen stayed black for the entire day. The next morning when going to work, the screen was on like nothing ever went wrong.

I spoke with the dealership, they advised me to bring in the car, and I ended up leaving it for the weekend due to some other issues I noticed. The service department told me that a software upgrade was needed and this would fix the issue. While in the shop, a loose hubcap was tightened, they found the brake fluid cap was missing, a brake fluid flush and replacement cap was done, and tire pressures checked. Hopefully the issue doesn't come back.

I picked up the car after the weekend, the dealership went to retrieve my car, and found the battery dead. They jump started the car, tested the battery, the battery tested ok, they put a charge on the battery, and I was on my way. This was Monday. Wednesday (today), the car would not start again, all displays and radio came on, and the car is going back in again for testing.

Impala LTZ V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,000 miles

Several times radio screen is black and no radio sound upon startup. I've tried restarting but no good. Next day it may work. Took it to shop in Nov 2014 and they said it needed computer upgrade and said they fixed. Back in the shop March 2015 right now with same issues. Pending.
