Had issues recently with a P228C code. This code is for the High Pressure Fuel Pump in the engine compartment. Engine would stutter a little bit while idling and would not accelerate well. The engine would also go into a reduced engine power mode when code set.

The shop replace this pump (about $1700) and things were fine for about two weeks, then the code returned with the same issues. I however, did find a report online that stated when this code is thrown and even if the pump has been replaced, you should try E-15 or Premium gas instead of E-85. This being a flex-fuel vehicle, apparently you are not supposed to constantly use E-85.

So after reading this report, I let the tank almost run empty and I put E-15 into the tank. It did throw codes for the first 20 minutes. Then, no issues. So before you go through the process of getting this pump fixed, try different gas first. May save you some money.
