problem #2

Jun 302007

Lumina Euro 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 98,000 miles

Started with a squealing belt. Applied some belt conditioner and it went away for a while. Then came back with a vengeance. The next morning my driveway was covered in coolant.

Turns out the water pump came apart, and the squealing was due to loss of tension on the pump pulley. Required a few days in the shop to order and replace the pump.

This is the third chevy/GM car that I have owned and all of them pretty much suck! My first was a sunfire gti, the engine blew. My second was a suburban, the muffler fell off and the oil pan unbolted while I was driving...My third is this chevy lumina, great on gas, reliable for the most part, but in the last 2 months I have put about $300 or more into all new parts just to keep it running. Everyone in my family has been into GM for years. I'm ready to move on to something else!
