Malibu LS 3.6L

Well by looking for weeks on the net and talking to people, I guess I've got either a blown head gasket or cracked block. Now the reason I'm pissed is I had just changed oil(30) antifreeze(high) and decided to run down the four lane to (I swear I felt like I had a new car), got about 3 miles when every light on dash went on and engine died. Been dead ever since. It will stay that way since most people are estimating $1000 to $2000. Being disabled, guess sell it for scrap or run it (push it into lake) no high temp light no nothing. I could see if it had 200000 miles but this just sucks. Thanks for letting me rant.

Just want to say is I cant believe how many people have had the same problem with this car!

I found out I had a water leak when the wife was driving and she called me and said there is water under the car,so I went to were she was and looked and the heater hose was cracked so I fixed it, she drove it home and I checked it again and the water was empty, I scratched my head and went uhhh , so I checked the oil knowing if no water is on the floor it has to go somewhere and bam the dipstick read like 10 inces over filled and was a milky color, I went sh*t so I called a few mechanic's and they told me it was a head gasket, well it wasn't it was the lower intake manifold gasket. well the car is down I have no cash so I did the job myself 3 weekends later and it was done, well now I have a leak again not to big but its there, NOT GONNA DO IT AGAIN LOL .

WELL HONESTLY I CANT BELIEVE THAT GM CANT HELP OUT OR RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM THEY KNEW IT WAS WHEN THEY BUILT IT WITH A CHEAP GASKET, I JUST THINK THAT THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY DESK SITTING SHITHEADS, MAKING MONEY OFF HONEST WORKING PEOPLE THAT SUPPORTED CHEVY BYE BUYING THERE CAR'S. GUESS WHAT IM DONE WITH CHEVY.

THANKS FOR READING BOYCOUT GM MAYBE IF WE STOP BUYING THERE STUFF AND LOOSE ALL THE MONEY MAYBE THEY WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Thanks Mike K

Ok I bought this car 2 weeks ago from a family friend who owns a small dealership, not really backed by anyone but I bought this car after being told that it was the best one on the lot and the Intake Manifold Gaskets had just been replaced. Well when they replaced the gasket they didn't bother to change the oil so it was being driven with oil mixed with antifreeze which two days ago led to a spun rod in the motor.... I payed 2200 for the car and to replace the motor its gonna cost 2180 so basically I have to re-buy the car.
