Malibu

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

I can't believe that a car with only 55,000 miles can have a computer go bad! The car would shut off with no warning and the codes made no sense, my mechanic could not figure it out, had to send it to Chevy to get fixed right and of course it cost the most. They had no explanation for it, just that it happens, BS!!! I think Chevy has some serious issues they need to fix, like maybe the computers coming from China are GARBAGE! What happened to made in USA? I'm very disappointed .

Malibu V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 61,350 miles

My car would just shut off while driving then start back up after a few minutes, drive for a mile or so then shut back off again. Was so much fun having people screaming and giving you that good old New York greeting. After my mechanic tried to fix it, it was giving off codes that didn't exist in that year and model, and $350 later, it was worse, had it towed to dealer who told me computer was bad, $100 towing, $100 diagnostic on car, $570 for computer and $470 for labor! They told me those things just happen, OK, WTF!!! The car has been well maintained and only has 61,000 miles on it, this is CRAZY!!! I have no faith in GM at all anymore, I'm selling this car and bought a Dodge Dakota, hopefully someone will buy it, runs just fine now, but we'll see. Also had 2 recall notices sent to me and OF COURSE they DON'T have the parts in yet, will be fun trying to sell this bleeping car!!! I say goodbye Chevy, never again!!!

Why when you purchase a vehicle they want you to spend all this money, and then when something goes wrong they want to give you the run-around. and estimates... where's the justice. I don't have money to spend like that..... Driving down the road and the car just cuts off. car behind you blowing horns, giving fingers, yelling and cursing. and go to a town and you there under a stop light and the car just cuts off.. And i pulls up at a store or somewhere and cuts the car off go in and get a cold beverage cums back out and people standing ,looking while im getting in the car ,.. And for some reason i get theis feeling that the car's gonna show off. So i go to crank the car and the there it goes it starts to crank and then it starts to continue to crank..Whats up with these vehicles??????

Malibu LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 32,000 miles

I was on my way back to school after a 4 day weekend being able to go back home for the holiday and what not and decided to go back early around 1 in the morning so i didn't have to worry about time, which also helped out not getting stuck in traffic. The car ran fine, no bad sounds, just aired up my tires and car drove fine. I was on the highway back going back to school, soon the traction control light came on, and i realized i had no steering or brakes and the DIC said something about engine power lost. So i had to fight the car over to the side of the road cutting off a semi and finally getting to the side of the road. When i tried to restart the car the engine won't turn over but the lights and all the stuff worked. So i had to get a hold of a tow truck to come tow my car to the dealer.

I will update later what the problem is they are still trying to figure out the problem.

Malibu LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,345 miles

First i had a problem with the alarm going off all the time, my battery was dead every morning.I cut the wire between the power lock control and the alarm system and fixed the problem. Now it stalls all the time and the traction control light comes on with a line through it. It loses power and says on the radio screen LOSS OF POWER. The dealership changed the gas pedal assembly and the Power Control Module. The pedal assembly change cost me about $300 and the other covered by the drive train warranty. But two days later it does the same thing.

I have a no good 2005 Chevy Malibu that just shuts off with now warning. First the anti-theft system started going off for no reason, now when I get to a light/stop sign or my driveway my car just shuts off. I have to put it in neutral or park and try to restart it. I've had it at the mechanic 3 times to be told there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. Well either they don't know or this is really a piece of crap. I think the latter. Does anyone know of any recalls for the 05 Mailbu's.

Malibu 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Everyday since April, 2007 care keeps stalling. When this happens gauges don't work properly, windows won't go up or down, radio, air conditioning, heat don't work. When car does finally start everything will work. It is a pain in the ass to get the car to start. When it does start it sometimes will stall out when you put in gear. Still haven't found out its problem. One place diagnosed it as ignition starter. Someone else says it is the anti theft system. Everyday we have a problem. Is there a recall for this problem?
