The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the rear driver and passenger side doors failed to latch in cold temperatures. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the technician informed that the doors needed to be lubricated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

Rear passenger door will not close shut, remains ajar. Had parts lubricated, problem still exists. However, problem exists when temperatures are below freezing. Show no outward signs of how moisture could get into the interior of the door. Working fine until the evening of 12/31, when door swung open while driving. The outside temperature was 23 degrees F. it originally happen on 12/7 when the outside temperature was 19 degrees F.

I am having problems with my back doors on my car closing when it gets cold outside....my children have been in the car twice when the doors opened up while I was driving, then one day on my way to work on the thurway the door opened on while I was driving...I have contacted my dealer where I purchased the car and they seem to think this is not serious....very upset with GM!
