Malibu LTZ 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 156,000 miles

2007 Malibu 3.5 A few months ago 156,000 miles.. Had a recall notice, The power steering pulls HARD at times mostly when going around a corner and trying to straighten up the car while speeding up.. Happening more and more as time go's by.. Almost hit kids trick or treating that were on the sidewalk the other day..

I have reported it to GM and they said that they would help me all I had to do was wait 30 minutes and call Radley Chevrolet and they would set me up for repair and they would either pay all or at least half.. Called them and I was told that I was denied any help through GM because I was over 150,000 miles by 6,000 miles.. They would repair at my cost.. Also now the oil light comes on and I've changed it twice and reset the radio oil function on the dash.. Today the heat wasn't getting hot so I had to add coolant but I must have a coolant leak SOMEWHERE nothing on the driveway though.. I still owe $2,000.00 on this car, and won't get much on a trade with these issues.. I was a die hard Chevy man all my life until now.. I own a 71 Chevelle and three 73 Camaros but today's GM models are JUNK !! I can't believe I'm saying this but thinking about a Toyota ... :-( Why won't GM stand behind their screw ups ??? I'm a single Dad and can't afford to waste money on problem after problem ... I also own a 97 Monte Carlo 3.1 ( my work car) it has been an awesome car for us, Had a few issues but that's normal.. ANY IMPUT WOULD BE HELPFUL !!!

Thank you....

Malibu LS 2.2L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

GM said that my vin # is not recalled because the car was made somewhere else with a different part. I feel that it should be recalled because all others have had the power steering recalled. I have not had it repaired because the Chevy dealer wants too much for my retirement pocket. They want to charge $994. The mileage is low for such a major problem.

Malibu LT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission

Can't believe that they make the 100,000 warranty sound so good until something as simple as the power steering goes up and they don't cover it.

Malibu LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Well I notice this problem a few months ago, not as bad as now.I hate this car so much. The power steering went out and I have not found a way to repair it. Its really hard to make right turns, left turns and parking. Driving this car is a workout for my arms due to all the pulling I have to do to drive this car.

Malibu LS 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

So last year I was driving "it" and the car started to drive itself. The car would jerk and I would over correct it finally got so bad I couldn't drive it safely and I drove into the dealership parking lot balling like a baby because I almost got into several accidents. So the dealership did a test drive and I HAD TO BE IN THE CAR we didn't even get 100 ft. from the dealership and the steering started acting up and I started crying again scary as hell. They replaced the steering column and I picked it up. So yay got my car back I didn't even get 2 miles away from the dealership and IT DID IT AGAIN so now Im just pissed off I pull it back in and say if yall cant fix it I want another car NOW!!! Again they made me get in the car for a test drive and it did before we even left the dealership. This time they replaced the computer and the steering column.UGH and almost a year later ITS DOING IT YET AGAIN surprise surprise. This car is dangerous and I wouldn't recommend for anyone especially a young woman who doesn't know what the hell to do in a situation like those.
