Malibu L 3.2L V6

I have replaced my low beam headlights between right and left side 7 times since I have own my car. I've owned other cars over 10 years before and never had to replaced any headlights. This is getting ridiculous and expensive. It costs $120.00 each time because they have to take the bumper off to get to it. Next car won't be a Chevy.

Malibu LS 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,000 miles

My headlights, just as my signal lights have to be changed 3-4 times a year. It is a pain because it is so expensive to change the lights because of the way the headlights are hidden and the entire front bumper and other parts have to be removed. It is time consuming as well and just like many other issues I've had with this car. I am constantly being told that there is no recall and there is nothing that can be done besides paying to replace the bulbs.

Malibu 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

The passenger headlight went out July 2016, was replaced by a friend. Turned around it was out again in October. I paid $186 to have it replaced in November, went out 10 days later, the shop replaced it free because they felt it was a bad bulb. Well now it is out again. This is the 4th time in less than a year it's went out, the 3rd time in a matter of 4 months.

This is the THIRD time the headlights go out and it seems that once one goes out I fix it and a few months later the other one will go out..........WTF! This is not a cheap fix and a pain in the ass to get to and replace. The first time the headlight went out was 2 years ago and it seems to happen in 6 month increments. What the Hell is going on with the electrical system. What is causing these headlights to go out - I am replacing them with OEM parts and they are still going out.

Some one from Chevrolet needs to get off their ass and figure this problem out. There may not be very many complaints for this specific issue - but I'm sure there are many out there that have not reported it and have just gone and done the repair.

Malibu LS 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

Replaced low beam headlight 3 times in a year, and its not like you can just open the headlight area and pull it out, no you have to pull the front bumper section off. The 1st time it took 4 hours, but have had to become a pro at it. I have never had to replace bulbs in any of my other vehicles this many times.

Malibu LT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

Chevy quoted me $320.00 to do this.

Replaced 3 headlight bulbs in a little more than 1 year. Problem with replacing bulb......you have to take off front end to change bulb. Last time I changed bulb was 3 weeks ago. Bulb out again. I am not a mechanic or body person so I have to pay someone to change the bulb. Paid someone to take off front end and change the bulb. 1st time was 220.00, second $180.00 Third $180.00. this is getting very old. Plus now it looks like something is causing my bulb to burn out.....Car is paid for and I love it. It was a gift from my son, but I am tempted ....
