Malibu Hybrid LS 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Well, let me tell you - I am a disabled veteran. I was coming home from a VA appointment in busy traffic in Sept. I got to the top of the high rise in New Orleans LA and a light comes on - engine reduced power. The whole car shut down as I was coming over the bridge and the car begin to cost down the bridge the brakes locked up, the steering wheel got hard and nothing was working

It was very hot, people was moving out the way because the car was out of control. I give god all the glory - he gave me the strength to hold that steering wheel until I got to the bottom because if I didn't I wouldn't be here right now to tell you. I had received damage to the front of the car and the passenger side door but I’m living. Once I stopped, I sat there for awhile and went to turn the car back on the breaks was stiff and you had to wiggle the gear shift to try to start the car and it did but it would only drive 20 to 30 miles an hour and you had to push hard on the brakes to stop and if you hit them too hard the car will stop.

I was scared to death because I had more bridges to cross before I can get home to Pearl River LA and the traffic was horrible so I finally made it home took me hours turned it off and could never get it started again. I called Matt Bowers Chevy and I gave him my vin number and he told me i would have to pay 135. an hour for them just to find what's wrong with and they said I had to have it towed. Then he came back and told me there weren't any recalls on Malibus in 2016 and what I saw on the computer is right.

Ever since i've had this car brand new I've had trouble with cutting off on me locking me out and having to wiggle the gear shift so it can start. And they said they fixed it from cutting off and it still does the same thing. I'm so tired of this vehicle - I depend on this vehicle to get me to my doctor's appointments. My life depends on this car.
