Monte Carlo Z34 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180,000 miles

Hello, I went to start my auto and it wouldn't start. Jumped the auto off and it began to run. Drove it to store about 2 miles down the road and the service engine light came on. Drove it immediately home and turned the ignition off. Went to start it that same evening and it wouldn't start. Tried to jump it off again to take to local store for a battery change and it wouldn't jump off. Took battery out and found out it had a dead cell. Exchanged and replaced battery...got in car to restart...turned over once and then all the dash and interior lights went out. Towed to local auto repair store and they put it on a boost and it wouldn't start...they immediately told me it was the engine and i needed a new replacement. I consequently have called someone else and they told me it may be the plastic intake manifold and it could be fixed with out needing a new engine after all...anyone with this problem please let me know how you handled the situation. Thanks~
