Monte Carlo SS 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,000 miles

The car was cutting out when going down the highway and when taking off from a stop. Maybe once a week for months then almost everyday. I took it to a transmission shop and they mentioned it might be the mass air flow senor if I was using a K and N air filter or an air filter that let in more air or larger particles into the engine. But after driving it the transmission guy said he would need a rebuilt or install a new transmission. I changed the mass air flow sensor and the issue went away. :)
