Monte Carlo SS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

Hand Remote controller stopped working and alarm went off by itself after closing the trunk. Then the door lock Fuses began blowing. Replaced them but they blew again. Then battery died. Replaced battery. The next day, the lights started flashing (interior and exterior), vehicle wouldn't start and battery wouldn't keep a charge. Replaced battery again. Symptoms returned in a few days. Replaced the alternator. Same electrical issues again. Replaced body control module. One week later symptoms again returned. Replaced mass air control sensor. Two days later (today) battery is, once again dead, and car won't start !! Absolutely no results from the dealership mechanics!!

Update from Apr 20, 2012: If anyone else is having the same problem with their 2002 Monte Carlo SS please call the Chevrolet manufacturer/plant in Winnipeg, Canada. I got no results from the mechanics and dealers in the U.S. including main plant in Detroit! My car was towed 4 (FOUR) times to the dealer with the same recurring issues and cost me almost $2000 and was still not fixed. I spoke directly with a mechanic in Winnipeg and he knew exactly what it was. The 2002 Monte Carlos were manufactured in Winnipeg by the way. I also found out there were recalls and known issues with the electrical harness. Finally fried my main computer along with other components before finally getting fixed properly!
