OK, so my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado has been nothing but trouble ever since I bought it. The first thing that happened is that the transmission had to be completely remade, which cost me 1600 dollars then the fuel pump went out which was another 600 dollars and after spending more than 2000 dollars in repairs it still runs like crap. When I start the motor when cold, it will knock very loudly for a good 60 seconds as well as the anti lock and parking brake lights will appear almost every day when there is nothing wrong with my brakes.

I bought this vehicle new in 2000 and after about 168,000 miles here is what took place.

I cranked the vehicle up this morning and waited for the engine to warm up and quit knocking (known defect #1). Not to be confused with the fuel pump whining that was fixed with new fuel pump assembly (known defect #2). I placed the vehicle in Reverse and backed up to the end of my driveway, I let the window down to see oncoming traffic, but the power window motor is so weak it will not roll the window back up. So I ease on down the road with the window down in the dead of winter (known defect #3). I come to a stop at the Stop sign exiting our neighborhood, when the road is clear I take off. The truck begins to shift from first gear to second and an awful grinding sound begins coming from the transmission, the rear planetary gears in the transmission have broken (known defect #4).

I think Chevy should use this vehicle in their next "Tough Chevy Truck" commercial, you know the one where they drop a load of bricks in the bed of the truck and drive it off through the construction site. I think if this truck were used, you would probably hear gears breaking and the fuel pump whining while the driver attempts to drive it off, if it survived the bricks being dropped in the bed. And the windows not working would be for the best, so you couldn't hear the drivers' comments about the repairs he is about to pay for.
