The ABS light and brake light come on at any time during normal driving. However, it can never be checked because it does not save it in the computer memory when the vehicle is turned off. According to the owner's manual, this means I have no anti-lock brakes. The second problem is very serious also. The fuel gauge is erratic and inaccurate. I fear that I may run out of fuel at some point because of this. Then I may be stuck on the side of the road. I currently have to track my mileage with the trip meter to make sure it doesn't happen. Through research on the internet, I realize these are very common on this vehicle and GM refuses to recall it.

Consumer's ABS motor will not shut off, causing the battery to run down. The warning light for the ABS illuminated. The service dealer stated the entire ABS motor needed to be replaced. The contact did pull the fuse to the ABS system. Consumer feels that since the ABS is a required option then it should be covered under warranty instead of costing $1,000 to replace. Consumer feels that since it's the braking system that it would be a safety issue and states that Arizona is only worried about emissions.

Brake rotors unatural wear. Rotors deteriorating on edges leaving only 1 inch of pad surface to engage rotor, in the middle of the rotors on my truck increasing stopping distance. Also excessive rust on anti-lock break system causing system failure warning light to engage. Estimate of $2000 to repair.

Consumer complains about the ABS brake system. There is a problem with the bearings of the brake system. There is no braking power. Sometimes the pedal goes all the way to the floor before it catches and slows the vehicle down. This occurs intermittently.
