Silverado LS 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Steering became excessively loose. Took truck in for alignment and the tech found the loose ball joints for the pitman arm and idler arm - and showed me - yes they were shot.... (at only 62K miles). Had shop replace immediately (didn't have time to do it myself) at about $500 with an alignment. I priced parts at Autozone & OReilly - much cheaper than at garage...

I took the truck home and then replaced the rear U-Joint on the driveshaft - what a pain to get the old one out....
