problem #4

Silverado 4WD 8-cyl Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,000 miles
If it rains and wipers are used wipers will not turn off unless fuse is pulled. Water gets into wiper module and cause short circuit., which depending on the occurrence and weather situation, driver visibility could be reduced, which could result in a crash.

Silverado 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,000 miles
Failure of windshield wipers intermittantly usually when it's raining very hard; resulting in total loss of visibility and near collision on several occasions. GM knows they have a problem with circuit boards. This is surely a safety item.

Silverado 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles
Windsheild wiper variable speed control does not work properly. Wipers will not turn off once turned on, thus ruining the wipers in light drizzle/foggy conditions. Intermittant settings do not work at all, wipers only work in normal and high mode.
