Replaced Gas Cap-light went off and we thought we were good to go - only to be stranded on the side of a dark country road a few days later due to the Electronic Fuel Pump going out. I will place a new complaint and explain that in more detail on a new update.

Silverado Z71 5.3L

Gas cap loose is scrolled across dash screen, went and took off gas cap and put back on, no fix. Then check engine light comes on, because of cap. Spoke to friend (chevy mechanic) he tells me they are aware of the problem, and the replacement part re-routes the vent line to a new location that is less likely to get dirt into the vent line valve. have yet to have work done. Just a pain seeing the check engine light on all 3 of my vehicle in the same month. Two are for gas cap / fuel venting. Other is for code fuel air mixture incorrect. How nice were carbs with no electronic junk controlling everything?
