The passenger seat belt locks in position to where the passenger cannot move and will tighten more until the seatbelt is removed and reattached. This is having to be done numerous times while the vehicle is in motion. The dealer has replaced the belt 3 times but has not corrected the problem. GM is now saying that the belt is designed that way because of car seats possibly being placed in that position. Their other answer was to add a seatbelt extension to help the problem. This moves the belt to a very unsafe position on the passenger body. The connection of the lap belt and the shoulder belt is almost in the middle of the passenger body pushing the shoulder belt over the arm rather than the shoulder. We will not use this device. This has not caused an accident or injury but if the passenger is removing their belt every 30 min. While the vehicle is in motion it could have bad results.
