Silverado LS 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Appears to be an epidemic for Chevy Silverado trucks. Dealership immediately knew the actuators for 3 doors (all except driver) would need to be replaced. Seeing complaints everywhere!

passenger door lock not locking or unlocking completely

I use the FOB as usual to let myself in and again when parking the vehicle. Passenger door lock only rises 1/4 up so the passenger can't open the door from the outside and I need to lean over from the inside to manually lift the button all the up. Seems to lock ok. AND when I go to park and put it in Park, only the driver's side door unlocks but the passenger side again doesn't lift all the way up and the passenger must manually lift up the lock. I have to always double check that the door actually locks when parking for the evening. I see the stupid button try to move and it just gets worse. The assenter door hardly ever gets that much use and it failed the 2nd yearI owned it.I I bought it brand new from SPORT ChEVROLET in SILVER SPRING MARYLAND. I called and asked but they wanted me to buy a brand new vehicle.OMI.Totally avoided the answer to my question if it was a free fix because many, many others have the same issue.I want it fixed because it is a defect.
